Coast. There, I went to Donkey Beach, and visited my donkey cousin. Just kidding! At Donkey Beach I went whale watching. I saw 7 humpbacks! They come 3,000 miles from the Gulf of Alaska, all the way to Hawaii to breed and birth. Later that day, I went to the Spouting Hole blowhole. ater during large swells. I heard a huge hiss, and a loud roar. While I was there, someone told me a legend based on the sound it makes. Ancient Hawaiians believed this coastline was once guarded by a giant moo (lizard) named Kaikapu. Everyone was afraid of the moo because it would eat anyone who tried to fish or swim in the area. One day, a young boy named Liko entered the ocean to outwit the lizard. Kaikapu attacked him, but Liko thrust a sharp stick into her mouth, swam under the lava shelf, and escaped through a small hole to the surface. The moo followed Liko and got stuck in the lava tube. To this day, you can hear the lizard’s roar and see her breath spraying from the blowhole. I don't think it's true, but I really liked the story. I'm in my hotel room now, and I'm really tired from all the stuff I did today. I think I'm about to fall aslee--
Oahu Island
April 1:
I got up extra early today to get more stuff done. I visited the island of Oahu today, and I really liked it. I started off by going to the Windward Coast and went to the Kualoa Ranch and, quite ironicly, went horseback riding. After I did that, I went to the North Shore for lunch. I had the loco moco. It consists of a hamburger steak and egg over rice, covered in gravy. I was still hungy after the really big meal, so I had some pupu. Pupu is the Hawaiin term for appetizer. There are many different kinds, but I had the sushi kind. In the afternoon, I visited central Oahu, and went to the Dole plantation. I went on the pinapple express, a narrated train tour of the history of the pineapple. Then, I went in the "World's Largest Maze" according to the Guiness Book of World Records. It took my 3 and a half

hours to get out! When I did get out, it was 7:00 PM. It went to my hotel, because I was very tired. I'm visiting Molokai. Before I went to my room, I went for supper. I had the plate lunch. It had 2 scoops of rice, macaroni salad and chicken katsu. Instead of chicken katsu, it could have had kalua pork, Korean barbecue, beer teriyaki, or mahimahi. For dessert, I ate a malasada, a hot Portuguese doughnut. I went to my room and ordered, you guessed it, more food, because I was still hungry. I ordered shave ice, a flavored snow cone, and it was delicious. Now, I'm not hungry.
April 2:
Molokai, the Island
I went to Molokai today. When I got there, I went to the east end. There, I went to the Kamakou Preserve and looked at lots of different plants. It's like a rainforest there. It has 250 different plants, and 219 of those can be found nowhere else on Earth. Nowhere that they's discovered, at least. Anyway, while I was walking through the rainforest, I heard a strange noise. It turned out to be a bird, called the Olomaʻo. It's call sounded similar to a cat-like rasp. It also made noises like gurgling whistles, liquid warbles, and flute-like notes. Later in the day, I went to cenral Molokai. When I arrived at the Moloka‘i Coffee Plantation. I went to the coffee bar for lunch.
